This summer was anything but ordinary. We got our research camp set up and looking official, with an actual honest to goodness building! Ryan did the longest stint out there, and covered a tremendous amount of ground–both literally and figuratively. Also, Laura German, Dept of Anthropology and PI on the NSF Vulnerability project, made her first visit to the field site. Paola Rivera, undergraduate International Affairs student came and conducted CURO research on perceptions of large development projects. And we also enjoyed the company of Sara Heisel, ICON/Ecology PhD student before she set off for Samburu to conduct her research in pastoralist communities. Exciting times!
