The Straight Dope on Allan Savory
Often, when I tell people that I study rangeland degradation and restoration, they’ll say, “Oh! I saw this great TED talk…” And I sigh. They are usually referring to Allan Savory’s 2013 talk, entitled “How to green the world’s deserts and reverse climate change.”
If that sounds too good to be true, you’ve got good instincts. It isn’t true. Here’s a link to an article by some of our most eminent rangeland ecology scholars explaining why.
